025 - Walking Around Africa
I do not want to walk
Around Africa
And not just because
I lack stamina
Because to keep going
All around the crispy edges
And not fall over
Any perilous ledges
Would be bloody stupid
And I’m not sure why
Anybody
Would have this desire
I feel that every creature
On that dark continent
Simply views me as
A tasty condiment
I do not want
To feed giant hippos
Or even to succour
The tiniest mosquitos
I’d quite like instead
To remain alive
And so I’ll stay home, thanks
A place I can thrive
I know to some
This might sound very boring
But I’m sorry Mum
I just don’t like exploring
