003 - Jab
I went and had a flu jab
It really wasn’t quite so bad
Although we had to wait in line
Outside for quite some time
I knew no-one in the queue
I had nothing much to do
To add insult to the pain
It was threatening to rain
But I wasn’t so alone
Cos’ luckily I had my ‘phone
So I looked up my online friends
To assess their virtual offence
Because in this day and age
It’s easy to cause outrage
Even if you didn’t mean to
That’s just the way that things go
Flicking through my Facebook contacts
Was just a huge distract
A way to avoid any mention
Of my injection apprehension
I got to the front of the queue
The Nurse said - “It’s just me and you”
She smiled and pricked my arm
And I went home without too much harm
