149 - Snot
“Go and ask those men the time”
My Mummy said to me
But I didn’t really want to
Go anywhere near those three
I think it was a joke
But it was hard to be sure
And although I was aged only 8
These guys did not look pure
Stood there on the pavement
They had coloured spiky hair
Wearing lots of leather
With studs just everywhere
I’d heard about these types of folk
I’d seen them on the Telly
They called them punks and to my eyes
They looked funny, kind of smelly
Smoking cigs and full of snot
Was how I did perceive them
I wasn’t asking them a thing
My mind they did condemn
But now I think back to the past
I wish I hadn’t been afraid
They were just young and harmless
Not the threat the media portrayed
